Module Summary

1. OVERVIEW
Badminton is an engaging sport that lends itself to unified play easily. It is a no-contact option for schools to provide physical activity while adhering to health and safety protocols. Badminton can be played indoors or outdoors which adds to its versatility as a Unified Sports option for schools and PE classes.
Special Olympics UAE, in partnership with Badminton World Federation, provides a complete learning pathway and resources which enable schools to implement Badminton as a unified sports option in schools.
Badminton can be implemented at recreational or competitive levels within schools and could involve as few as two students or multiple teams. Unified Badminton meets the Unified Sport criteria if ongoing training is conducted for at least one term either virtually or in-person.

2. OBJECTIVES
TANGIBLE GOAL #1
Provide teachers with an overview of Unified Badminton Programming.
TANGIBLE GOAL #2
Ensure teachers have the skills needed to implement unified badminton training within their schools. This includes knowledge of both badminton and inclusion practices.
