Module Summary

The last step to fulfill the criteria of the Unified Champion Schools program is by applying the last pillar; Whole School Engagement, which are activities that positively impact school climate by including all students, teachers, staff and administrators. This welcoming community cultivates a positive school climate and enhances other school-wide efforts.

School-wide opportunities focused on social inclusion raise awareness and create an educational environment where respect and acceptance are the norms and all students feel included and engaged, this is aimed to reach most of the school population.

Examples include such things as Spread the Word Campaign, Pep Rallies or “Fans in the Stands” for Unified Sports teams, or Respect Campaigns.

This pillar has the following standards to meet:

8. At least two whole-school engagement activities are implemented per school year.

9. Students with and without disabilities are involved with planning and leading the awareness activities.

What is your plan to have your school recognize Unified Sports?

Pick one Unified Sport and share your plan to host a Unified League. Include teams, schedule, field, rules and all aspects of the league.

What is your plan to be a certified teacher by SOUAE?

What is your plan to establish a Unified Club in your school? Include name of club, number of students, monthly meetings, agenda, your involvement as a teacher and activities planned by the team.

List down whole school engagement events you plan to have in 2020? Include goal of every event, channels to reach entire school, activities during event and other aspects of the events.
